The Problem

How can we comprehend and collect data to evaluate citizens' perceptions of security risks in Riga's districts, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of police service deployment?

Collaboratively, the tool involves various stakeholders, including the municipal police, district population services of the municipality, and NGOs, who collectively drive its implementation. Over a four-week period, the tool delivery includes the following key activities:

  • Analysing incident records from police records to identify incident trends and police responses.

  • Gathering citizens' feedback on feelings of insecurity, fear of harm, trust in police, and neighbourhood disorder.

  • Analysing citizens' feedback to understand their insecurities, fears, and confidence levels in police and neighbours.

  • Comparing the analysis of incident records with citizens' feedback to update policing tactics.
