IcARUS at the 8th Security, Democracy & Cities Conference in Brussels, Belgium – March 20-22, 2024

The IcARUS project will have a stand at Efus’ Security, Democracy & Cities conference! Come and learn more about the project:

  • The six partner cities (Lisbon, Nice, Riga, Rotterdam, Stuttgart and Turin) will pitch their new tools.
  • IcARUS partners will participate as speakers in several thematic sessions: Daniel Trottier on Communication, transparency, fake news, social media, Daniel Gatica-Perez on Technology and AI and José Figueira, Commander of the Lisbon Municipal Police, on Cities and local police forces.
  • Through real and documented examples of urban security challenges faced by cities, participants will experiment with some design thinking approaches focusing on the project’s methodology. This session: “How to use the design thinking method in urban security at the local level?” will be with Maud Ridoux (Makesense) and Massimo Fattori (Erasmus University).
  • The members of the IcARUS Expert Advisory Board (EAB) and the Consultative Committee of Cities (CCC) will also present their work, for instance: Patrick Charlier (UNIA) on preventing discriminatory violence, while Malin Martelius (Malmö) and Werner Vanherle (Mechelen) on their local prevention models.
